It begins to dawn on me that school will require a lot more time and commitment than I have envisaged. The major silver lining is that I am really enjoying the program so far. Week second opens today and can’t wait to see what it holds.
I feel like I have finally found what I’ve been looking for. Strangely it all seems to fall in place. I am studying something that I am interested in and moreover – very passionate about. I have an amazing support group of fellow students, from all over the world, who are a great sounding board, always ready to offer help and advice. I am hopefully building an alternative career where I will be able to help people and find the balance which I am missing at times as the moment. A lot of exciting things are scheduled to happen this year and I am really looking forward to them.
What resonated with me most when studying the first module was SINGLE POINTED FOCUS. Some people may already know – I am a queen of procrastination. And multitasking, which is not that great when studying. We have been told to devote this year to the course fully, to treat it as if we were in medical school, to prioritise it over other things and this is exactly what I will be doing. This year I will practice my single pointed focus and put school first. I think it may be time to delete candy crush saga from my iPad as well….
