I have always wanted to go to the Whole Foods Market, but somehow it never happened. Until yesterday.
We had arrange a school meeting there which I thought was quite fitting.
As soon as I entered the building (two floors of produce and one floor of restaurants and free WI-FI) I knew I was in trouble and should have stayed away. But also I felt like I was in a Disneyland. And – for the first time in my life – I actually wanted to move into the shop. Not even to eat all the goods, but mostly to look, smell and explore.
I only had about 15 minutes to go crazy so didn’t have time to really look at what’s there (more reasons to go back!), but boy did I like what I saw. Nut grinding machines (as in you can make your own nut butter, just like that!), all types of everything, all healthy and organic. Most of the produce I have never seen before.
I have come home with two shopping bags full of goodies – big jar of chia seeds (obsession still going strong), some lentils, beans, flakes, oats (you can make your own flower), rainbow chard, pistachio butter….I think I deserve a lot of credit though as I entered through bakery and didn’t buy any breads. And anyone who knows me would understand that this takes some will power, but I am trying to go easy on gluten so had to resist. It was not easy!!!
And this Saturday I am going to a food festival. Not sure if my bank account is ready for it….
PS for my friend who requested it – you can now like my posts but you need to actually click on the post so it takes you to its site. I haven’t figured out yet how to like it on the main page. Work in progress…
